STORIES OF A FEMALE FBI AGENT

LORRAINE MARTYNIAK:  RETIRED FBI AGENT

Lorraine Martyniak retired after 23 years as a Special Agent of the FBI, having served the majority of her career, 18 years, in the New York office. She also worked in the Boston and Houston offices. Her casework included criminal, foreign, counterintelligence, and terrorism cases. She was the undercover agent for a number of cases, and the case agent for her own undercover operations, cooperating witnesses, and double agents. At one point in her career, she took the assignment as a recruiter for the FBI, and then the agent in charge of all the hiring for the NYO.

After retiring, she started her own PI business and also taught classes in terrorism for 10 years at the Boston Police Academy.

Prior to joining the Bureau, Lorraine was a psychologist and was hired by a non-profit to develop an innovative program for a psychiatric halfway house and serve as the resident director. Her house was lauded as one of the most outstanding aftercare programs in the U.S. and was featured on 60 Minutes.

Lorraine graduated from Boston University and received a Master's Degree in psychology from the University of Chicago.
